Crowns

A dental crown, also commonly known as a cap, is used to cover and protect a tooth.  If a tooth has large aging fillings it is at a higher risk of fracture, a crown can be used to prevent this fracture from occurring.  If a tooth is already broken it can be used to help restore it to its original strength!

A crown can also be used to help improve the appearance of your smile by covering a tooth that has had a hard life.  Crowns cover the entire surface of a tooth, from the chewing edge down to the gumline.  It is permanently cemented or bonded over top of your tooth, returning it to it’s natural strength and appearance.
